Marjan Rožič, Slovenian politician (September 12, 1932, Ribčev laz – end of December 2017, Bohinj)
Marjan Rožič graduated from the Faculty of Political Sciences in Belgrade in 1963, where he received his doctorate in political sciences in 1980. He was always active in politics. He was an educator, journalist, editor of the newspaper Obrtnik. He worked in the governing bodies of the Federation of the Socialist Youth of Slovenia, from 1965 to 1972 he was the secretary of the Federal Council of the Federation of Trade Unions of Yugoslavia and from 1972 to 1978 of the Socialist Union of Working People of Yugoslavia. Then, until 1991, he was a deputy (delegate) in the Federal Assembly and for a year (1988/89) also president of the SFRY Assembly. From 1978 to 1982 he was the president of the City Assembly of Ljubljana (mayor of the city). From 1989 to 2006, he was the president of the Slovenian Tourism Board. He published numerous articles and discussions on political, economic and tourism issues.
