Serbia, hold on to Pupin's values, that is the only way forward
Boris Tadić

Boris Tadić (Sarajevo, January 15, 1958) is a Serbian politician, former President of the Republic of Serbia. He was the president and honorary president of the Democratic Party and is the current president of the Social Democratic Party.
He is a psychologist by profession. Tadić was first elected president of Serbia in the June 27, 2004, presidential election for a four-year term. He won his second, five-year mandate by winning the second round of the presidential elections on February 3, 2008. Before becoming President of Serbia, he was the Minister of Telecommunications of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia and the Minister of Defense of Serbia and Montenegro.
He was a member of the Democratic Party since its founding in 1990, and its president since 2004. After losing the 2012 presidential election and the party's poor rating, he resigned as president of the Democratic Party in November 2012 in favor of Dragan Djilas, becoming honorary party president. After a conflict with the new leadership, he left the Democratic Party in January 2014, and since he did not have time to collect signatures and register a new party, he made an agreement with Ivan Karić's Green Party of Serbia, "borrowed" his party and called it the "New Democratic Party - Greens". He went to the early parliamentary elections in 2014 with this party in a coalition with the parties Together with Serbia (ZZS), the League of Social Democrats of Vojvodina (LSV) and other smaller parties. The coalition won 18 seats, of which Tadić's party won 10 according to the coalition agreement. After entering the parliament, the party changed its name to the Social Democratic Party (SDS) and registered as such, while the Greens were left with one seat for their president and they became independent again, after 10 deputies moved to the newly registered SDS.
Tadić strongly advocates close ties with the European Union and Serbia's accession to the European Union. During his presidency, the EU abolished visas for Serbian citizens traveling to the Schengen area, the Serbian government ratified the Stabilization and Association Agreement (SAA) with the European Union, was granted candidate status for EU membership, and fulfilled its obligations towards The Hague tribunal.
